The Design committee will again be sprucing up Main Street with a series of volunteer efforts known as "BOONTON IS BLOOMING 2008"  As part of this clean up effort, they are challenging business owners to come outside and sweep away the winter grunge and to install planters, flower boxes, hanging planters, or window displays and enter the competition! 

"If you have ever traveled to a town that goes all out with flowers, you don't forget it" said interim committee chair Matt DeLauri  "The Design committee hopes this will be a small part of an all encompassing program to improve the look of Main Street" added DeLauri. 

Business owners will be competing for cash awards and prizes between May 10th and May 31st.  The winners will be announced and prizes awarded on June 14th.

In addition, the Promotions committee is working on an event they have named "ART ON MAIN" which will held as a Second Saturday event May 10 -  They are looking for Local Artists to display their artwork in store fronts or set up displays along Main Street at areas like the boardwalk, or outside the library during that Saturday.  If you are interested, contact Karen Korinda at 973-257-9107 or boontonmainstreet@att.net
