30 in attendance at the
Business Workshop

Despite the weather on June 18th Reighart Hall was filled
with a group of small business people listening intently to stories about a shop
in Kansas, and one in Arkansas. The setting of the stories had little to do with
their business or business setting in metropolitan New Jersey or specifically
Boonton, yet all were transfixed on the story teller.
Jon Schallert,
marketing expert and small business strategist, quickly connected those success
stories to their businesses and the purpose of the training workshop: Rethinking
their business marketing and turning their business and thus their towns into
consumer destinations.
With the support of
Main
Street New Jersey, Boonton Main Street, Inc. was able to host this training
session. One attendee said, “I was skeptical and in no shape to sit here all
day, but it was fantastic!”
Another said, “With each new example Jon presented, my mind started spinning
with endless ideas for my own business!” A third called the office and asked a
staff person to hurry over so as not to miss this presentation.
“While the businesses along Main Street are holding on in this tough economy –
they are very fragile…
said Executive Director, Karen Korinda, “We have to provide every opportunity
for them to think outside the box…and Jon Schallert certainly delivered!”
Jon Schallert’s Destination
University training webinars are FREE to Boonton Main Street Businesses
because of its connection with Main Street New Jersey. It is easy to sign up and
the monthly webinars can be viewed 24/7…they are even archived so if a business
owner is too busy one month, it can be seen anytime.
“With the slowing of foot traffic and the declines in revenue, there is no
excuse for not signing on to this training program and at least thinking about
revamping the business plan,” declared Korinda. “The first step is a phone call
or email away.” For more information, contact 973-257-9107 or
